Even when the lighting conditions are poor, a Canon 18.1 megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor is able to produce photographs with a high resolution and very low noise. This sensor is truly remarkable. If you use wide-angle lenses with a full-frame sensor, you will get the most out of them and have greater control over the depth of field. The image resolution is higher than what is required by leading photo agencies, making it ideal for extra large prints up to A2 size, even after the image has been cropped.

Taking shots at an extremely rapid tempo

You may record every second of the action with up to 12 frames per second (fps) of continuous shooting, which increases to an incredible 14 frames per second in Super High speed shooting with up to 180 big JPEG photos captured in a succession (38 RAW).

Huge ISO range

Because the camera has an ISO range of 100 to 51200, which can be enlarged to an astonishing ISO 204800, you will never have to stop shooting, even if the light is very brilliant or it is almost completely black.

61-point AF system

You are able to concentrate on things that are moving swiftly and correctly, regardless of how light the environment is, thanks to a high-precision 61-point AF system that has 41 high-sensitivity cross-type sensors. In order to achieve more precision, the middle five AF points are of the double-crossed variety.

Consistent, precise metering

Even when the lighting is difficult to control, a 100,000-pixel RGB AE metering system with a dedicated DIGIC 4 processor ensures that the exposure is extremely precise and that the images seem natural. This system monitors both the brightness and the color of the scene.

Full HD EOS movies

You may record video in full high definition (1080p) on a DSLR and make adjustments to a broad variety of settings, including exposure, frame rates, audio, and compression. With an HDMI output, high-definition copies of both still images and moving video may be played back.

Dual “DIGIC 5+” processors

Dual “DIGIC 5+” processors from Canon’s most recent generation are the world’s quickest and most sophisticated image processors to date, offering these cameras the highest possible image quality for their respective categories. Utilizing a total of 4 A/D converters, the 14-bit image processing that is produced by this setup ensures that tonal transitions are seamless, colors appear authentic, and even higher ISO rates benefit from improved noise reduction.

LCD screen that is large and anti-reflective

The images and video may be seen in a clear and precise manner on a 3.2-inch Clear View II LCD screen that has a high resolution of 1,040k dots. Even when the sun is at its highest point in the sky, a structure made of anti-reflective glass that has been strengthened prevents reflections from occurring.

The ethernet access point or port

With an integrated Ethernet connector, it is simple to transfer photographs captured at live events either directly to a personal computer (PC) or to customers across a network.

Looking for a low-cost microphone yet you’re working with a limited budget? Photographer Curtis Judd examines a shotgun microphone called the Takstar SGC-598 in this video. The microphone is available for a very low price.

Although it does produce some hiss, which can be edited out in post-production, Judd’s experience with the microphone demonstrates that it is a rather excellent device for a low-end microphone. This low-cost microphone has several applications, including that of a backup or second microphone.

If you’re recording your primary sound into an external recorder and want a backup just in case, but don’t want to spend too much on a decent shotgun mic that you won’t use 99% of the time, the Takstar SGC-598 might be an alternative for you. It’s a good compromise between the two. Be warned, though, that it does have a few issues.

Last update was on: April 1, 2023 3:22 pm

The V-Mic D3 Pro from Deity Microphones is a camera-mount shotgun microphone designed for mobile journalists, vloggers, YouTubers, and run-and-gun filmmakers. It captures audio in a directed pattern, has gain and filtering controls, and is compatible with a broad range of devices. It is intended to provide a clearly audible upgrade in sound quality in comparison to the microphones that are already included in cameras, cellphones, and portable recorders.

Because it has an internal microprocessor, the V-Mic D3 Pro is compatible with a wide variety of DSLR cameras, camcorders, mobile devices, and portable audio recorders. This is because the microprocessor automatically configures the TRRS connector so that it is compatible with most 3.5mm mic input jacks. With the 3.5mm TRRS coiled cable and Rycote adjustable shock mount that comes with it, you’ll have no trouble attaching it to your camera, boom pole, or tripod in a matter of minutes.

Gain of up to 20 dB may be controlled with a knob located on the underside of the microphone, making it simple to change the volume. Reduce the rumbling and bass by activating the built-in low-cut filter and setting it to either 75 or 150 hertz. The rechargeable battery that lasts for 51 hours and may be found inside the microphone is the primary source of power.

You simply need to plug in the power (bias voltage) that comes from your camera or mixer in order to switch the microphone on or off. The aluminum chassis has a finish applied to it that is made of paint that does not reflect much light, which means that it will not add extra weight to your camera or cause glare.
